I use these metasearch tools most: Dogpile and Copernic.

I also read a number of mailing lists regularly, most having to do with computers / technology / the Internet / e-commerce / computer security and several Usenet newsgroups. While I still use Dejanews for Usenet searching, I'm looking for a replacement (Altavista's Usenet search is still down) because Dejanews has taken its pre-May 1999 archives offline indefinitely, and it's gotten increasingly less useful even for current news searches.

2. I bill via Visa and MasterCard credit card and via US Mail.

3. Your credit card number will NOT be requested with your order. If you decide to order, you will be given a URL at a secure site where you may enter your credit card information.

4. Your order will not be considered accepted until it has been billed to your credit card or I have received your payment via check or money order. If you really need your search done in a hurry and you are not paying via credit card, I recommend an overnight delivery service for your check/money order such as FedEx or US Postal Service Express Mail or UPS 1-day.

5. I reserve the right to refuse an assignment for any reason or none. If an assigment calls for resources that I know to be unavailable on the Web, I'll usually reject it. If an assignment calls for things I know not to exist (workable anti-gravity drives, perpetual motion machines that work, verifiable statistical evidence that gun control improves public safety) I'll generally bounce it. If an assignment is to locate illegal merchandise (warez, etc.) I'll certainly bounce it.

6. I will try on a "best efforts" basis to get the information back to you within 2 business days of accepting your order or an explanation of why I've been unable to do this and an inquiry as to whether you want me to continue the job on an "extra charge" basis if I believe there are search possibilities I haven't explored yet.

7. Some results I provide for may direct you to sites where payment is required for use. Whether you choose to buy the information or not is up to you, I'm not connected with any at this time. If you want to pay me to check these sites, that's a separate agreement and billing, and as I said, no guarantee exists that the information will be what you're looking for in these locations, either.

8. All I can guarantee is due diligence on the search. The more you tell me about what you're looking for, the better chance that I'll find it. For the "simple" search, I'll spend up to an hour. You will receive an e-mail with URLs of the best matches I find and a report on what sites I used and what keywords and methods I used in searching them. The sending of this e-mail fulfills any obligations your payment creates on my part. Be warned that if I find nothing, that's what I'll tell you and this does NOT mean that you will be getting a refund. Sometimes the information just isn't out there.

9. No guarantee is possible that what you're looking for can or will be found. Sometimes, the truth is NOT out there. Or the information available on the Web doesn't match your personal beliefs. Sometimes the information found on the Web is simply completely wrong. I'll give you the best matches I can find based on the information you submit. I don't warrant its accuracy or completeness. Please review anything you get in terms of health or legally related major lifestyle changes with a medical or legal practitioner or other appropriate profession. The answer I give you may be wrong, or it might be the right bit of information he / she / it / or they needs to solve your problem.

10. I will deliver 1-10 URLs via e-mail in response to your search request which I consider reasonably related to your search request. Your order will be considered as delivered when that e-mail has been sent.

11. If you haven't heard from me within 2 business days of your placing a search request or my accepting your search order, please contact me IMMEDIATELY.
